About Woodcrest, CA

Woodcrest is an unincorporated community in Riverside County that borders the city of Riverside. Its name comes partly from its first tract, laid out at the crest of the hills, and its elevation runs from about 1,535 feet to above 2,000 in places. It is an equestrian community, with many homes on ranch lots and horses of their own. Former orange groves have mostly given way to new homes.

Washington Street is its main route, realigned from the old Woodard Grade that once climbed up from Riverside. Van Buren Boulevard meets Washington Street near where the 1924 Fertile Acres tract was laid out. Hillside grades work brakes and suspensions hard, and gravel and brush are hard on paint.
